Keeping the holiday season in mind, the Uttar Pradesh government has announced that all government and private schools will be closed from October 20th to 23rd for Diwali.

All government and private schools will be closed from October 20th to 23rd for Diwali. Diwali fell on October 20th and 21st, Govardhan Puja on October 22nd, and Bhai Dooj on October 23rd. Due to the weekends on October 18th and 19th, students received five consecutive days off.

The Rajasthan government has announced a 12-day holiday from October 13th to 24th. Diwali, Bhai Dooj, and other regional festivals are being included in the October schedule of many schools across India.

Schools Closed in Jammu
Schools in Jammu have also announced a holiday from October 19th to November 2nd. A letter issued by Manisha, a private officer at the Jammu Directorate of School Education, states that all government and recognized private schools up to the higher secondary level will observe the Puja holidays. The next day of classes in Jammu schools is Monday, November 3rd.

Holidays in Bihar Schools
The Education Department of the Bihar government has announced school holidays. Schools will be closed from October 20th to October 29th, 2025, for the festivals of Diwali and Chhath Puja. Schools will reopen from October 30th, 2025.
