Our favourite on-screen couple is making a comeback this year, and we can't keep calm. Ever since the makers officially released the first look of Kim Woo-bin and Suzy's upcoming K-drama, Genie, Make a Wish, the internet has been buzzing for all the right reasons. Now, with the teaser trailer finally out today (August 28), it’s everything we need to pull us out of the K-drama slump.

Genie, Make a Wish teaser out

Genie, Make a Wish is a fantasy romantic comedy that brings magic, mystery, and mischief in a delightfully unpredictable package. Kim Woo-bin plays a genie who isn’t your friendly neighbourhood wish-granter. In fact, he proudly refers to himself as "Satan". After being trapped for 1,000 years, he's suddenly awakened and bound to a new master, Ga-young, played by Suzy, a woman with a chillingly cold exterior and psychopathic tendencies.

Their bond is sealed by a pact of three wishes and a deadly wager, setting the stage for a romance full of dark comedy, power struggles, and unexpected emotional turns. The teaser reveals their fiery dynamic: Genie threatening Ga-young one moment, and her boldly retaliating the next. With glimpses of laughter, conflict, and growing connection, the trailer hints at a relationship that could be both dangerous and fun.

More about Genie, Make a Wish

The series also brings together a talented supporting cast. Ahn Eun-jin plays Mi-joo, a mysterious figure with secrets of her own. Noh Sang-hyun joins as Genie’s brother and rival, Soo-hyun, while Ko Kyu-pil plays Genie’s loyal assistant Sayyid, who harbours a hidden magical twist. Lee Zoo-young takes on the role of Min-ji, Ga-young’s only friend and emotional anchor.

The series is directed by Lee Byeong-heon and written by Kim Eun-sook, the renowned writer behind The Glory, Goblin, and Mr. Sunshine. Genie, Make a Wish is set to premiere globally on Netflix on October 3, 2025, aligning with Chuseok, Korea’s major harvest festival. Are you read for the upcoming fantasy K-drama.
