Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): A speeding car hit a bike carrying a couple and their six-month-old son in the village of Panthpiplai on Sunday, killing the child on the spot. The woman sustained serious injuries and is undergoing treatment at Indore’s MY Hospital, while the driver of the car is still on the run.
The accident occurred in front of the Atithi Dhaba in the village under the Nanakheda police station.
Arun (21), son of KaluramKewat and resident of Donta Jagir, police station Tonkkhurd (Dewas), was visiting his in-laws in Indore for 10 days and was on his way back with his wife Payal and son Dakshraj. They were headed for Donta Jagir to meet their parents on Sunday, when around 2.30 pm, their bike was hit from behind by a car (MP 09 AH 0659).
The Nanakheda police have registered a case in the matter. Investigating Officer Bhanwarlal Yadav said they were searching for the absconding driver. Meanwhile, the boy’s body has been handed over to the family after a post-mortem on Monday.
Woman, son sustain severe injuries
A woman and her son returning from a wedding met with an accident on Sunday night. They were on their way home in Dewas when a speeding car driver hit them from behind, injuring both of them. They were immediately taken to the Government Charak Hospital where they are being treated.
According to the information received, 19-year-old Sanjay, son of HarinarayanKalwa, a resident of village Amona in Dewas, has come to Ujjain with his mother Sauram(50), sister Pinky, and maternal uncle Rai Singh, to attend his cousin’s wedding.
Sauram and Pinky were riding pillion when around 11 pm, an unknown car hit Sanjay’s bike from behind, causing the mother and son to fall away. Pinky said one of Sanjay’s fingers had to be stitched. He has sustained injuries to his shoulder and leg, while his mother suffered head injuries.
