In a late-night operation, Navi Mumbai Police conducted a major raid on an illegal dance bar named ‘The Race’ located in the Vashi area. The action was carried out swiftly under the direct instructions of Maharashtra Minister of State for Home Affairs, Yogesh Kadam. According to officials, the bar was operating past midnight without a valid license. During the raid, police discovered that loud music was being played and several women, dressed in obscene attire, were performing vulgar dances in front of customers.
As part of the operation, 40 women were rescued from the premises. In addition, a total of 46 people, including six bar waiters, have been booked under various charges.
Legal action has been initiated against the bar owner, manager, and other individuals involved for operating without a license, promoting obscene acts, and violating laws that protect the dignity of women.
Authorities stated that this crackdown aligns with the state government's firm policy against obscenity and immoral activities. The initiative aims to uphold public decency and safeguard societal values.
