Michael rose to fame in 2014, when he won Britain's Got Talent with his Collabro bandmates. At the time, the band consisted of four members, Michael Auger, Jamie Lambert, Matthew Pagan and Thomas J. Redgrave and Richard Hadfield. The group enjoyed success after the show, and have sold over two million records since. However, in 2016, Richard left the band after a row over posting over posting cover songs on YouTube.
The band continued as a four piece and have continued to enjoy even more success, even supporting Cliff Richard on his Just Fabulous Rock 'n' Roll Tour of the UK in 2017.
From their first audition, it was clear the band were going to go on to do big things. They wowed the judges with a rousing rendition of a song from musical Les Misérables, receiving a standing ovation.
Simon Cowell was quick to sing their praises, as he announced: "Britain has really got talent." The band received four yeses from the panel, and went flying through to the semis.
They later won the competition with 26.5% of the public vote in 2014, and signed to Simon Cowell's record label Syco later that year.
The following month, they released their first album Stars, which stormed the charts and went straight into the Number One spot.
