To plan a trip to Kedarnath, first you have to decide the route of the journey, which starts from Haridwar or Rishikesh. After this, you have to reach Gaurikund by bus or taxi, from where the journey to Kedarnath on foot starts. If you want, you can also use mule, palanquin or helicopter.
To visit Kedarnath, you can travel from Delhi to Kedarnath. You can get a train from Delhi to Haridwar. From Haridwar, you have to go further by bus or taxi. Apart from this, you can take a flight from Delhi to Dehradun. From Dehradun, go to Kedarnath via Rudraprayag by bus or taxi.
In this, first of all you go from Delhi to Haridwar, check-in at the hotel in Haridwar and in the evening you can see Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri in Haridwar. After this, stay in the hotel at night, and then go from Haridwar to Rudraprayag. You can also visit Devprayag and Rudraprayag on the way. After this, reach Gaurikund from Rudraprayag. Start the 14 km trek to Kedarnath from Gaurikund.
Along with this, if you travel to Kedarnath by road, then you go from Delhi to Haridwar, and from Haridwar to Rudraprayag, then from Rudraprayag to Gaurikund and after reaching Gaurikund, the journey to Kedarnath on foot begins. Because there is no road to Kedarnath, there is a road till Gaurikund and from there you have to trek on foot.
Include places worth visiting nearby in your plan to visit Kedarnath. Like Gandhi Sarovar which is a frozen lake 3 km away from Kedarnath. Apart from this, go to Sonprayag, the confluence of Mandakini and Vasuki rivers, which is on the way to Kedarnath. You can also visit Gaurikund. And after reaching Kedarnath, you can also go to Vasuki Tal. This beautiful lake is 5 km away from Kedarnath, between the peaks of the Himalayas.
