Drivers are facing huge delays on the M5 this afternoon following a serious multi-vehicle crash. Two of the three lanes on the northbound side are currently closed between junction 22 for Burnham-on-Sea and junction 21 for Weston-super-Mare. Only one lane remains open past the scene, but traffic is barely moving, with nine miles of congestion stretching back towards Bridgwater.
National Highways has warned of delays of up to three hours, with recovery work still ongoing at the site. The crash, which happened earlier today around 15 miles from Bristol Airport, has also led to delays on nearby roads, including the A38 through Highbridge.
