Staying stylish when the temperature won't commit to hot or cold can be tricky so building a look around one or two staple reliable layering pieces is key. Shoppers at M&S have rated one such item highly, so much so, one person bought a pair a day to wear.
The Wide Leg Trousers from M&S Collection cost £29.50, and come in two colours that form a great base for any wardrobe: black and dark navy. They're available in sizes six through to 24, as well as in extra short, short/petite, regular, long and extra long.
For added ease, they are pull-on trousers and have a wide leg shape that is very on-trend, and also flattering. Adding to the silhouette is an elasticated high waist, and they have concealed pockets at the side and a crease down the front.
Fashion fans who love something bolder with a print can look to Next, who have the Black/White Textured Gingham Wide Leg Trousers for £26. They come in other colour combinations like blue/black, pink/blue and blue/green, and have an elasticated tie waist, front pockets and a wide-leg cut.
Elsewhere Tu at Sainsbury's has these Grey Contrast Stripe Wide Leg Pull-On Trousers 24L for £22.50. These have a flattering wide-leg cut and a stripe down the side of each leg.
Back at M&S shoppers have raved about their purchases, with nearly 1,500 reviews on the website.
One shopper said: "These trousers fit well, are very flattering and go with nearly anything. I would recommend them to anyone. You can use them for a smart outfit or casual I bought them in black and navy." They were such a hit with one buyer, they own multiple pairs: "Great trousers for work I've brought 5 pairs so I have a pair per day. Fits great and the quality is good."
Another person concurred saying: "Great comfy affordable trousers. Lovely fabric, fit well and good length." The only drawback for one shopper was selection, and they said: "These are lovely trousers and very easy to wear with the pull on waist. Shame there wasn't more colours to choose from." While someone else said: "Nice quality and fit as expected. Only criticism is there are no belt loops."
