This brand new thriller has been hailed as the "best film of the year" and it has a 90% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
28 Years Later, the sequel to 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later was released in cinemas earlier this month.
Academy Award-winning director Danny Boyle and Academy Award-nominated writer Alex Garland reunite for 28 Years Later. The film stars Jodie Comer, Ralph Fiennes, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Edvin Ryding and Erin Kellyman among others.
28 Years Later synopsis reads: "It's been almost three decades since the rage virus escaped a biological weapons laboratory, and now, still in a ruthlessly enforced quarantine, some have found ways to exist amidst the infected. One such group of survivors lives on a small island connected to the mainland by a single, heavily-defended causeway.
"When one of the group leaves the island on a mission into the dark heart of the mainland, he discovers secrets, wonders, and horrors that have mutated not only the infected but other survivors as well."
With a high rating of 90% on Rotten Tomatoes, one reviewer described 28 Years Later as "one of the best movies of the year".
The Rotten Tomatoes critics consensus said: "28 Years Later taps into contemporary anxieties with the ferocious urgency of someone infected with Rage Virus, delivering a haunting and visceral thrill ride that defies expectations."
One reviewer said: "28 Years Later is twice the film that 28 Days Later is - it's arguably one of Boyle's best films. The director has outdone himself by raising his beloved universe to another level that I did not think was achievable."
David Rooney of the Hollywood Reporter said: "28 Years Later subverts expectations in many ways... Boyle and Garland still have plenty of fresh inspiration for pulse-pounding terror."
28 Years Later is showing in cinemas now.
