Prince William is reportedly not feeling positive about the fact King Charles may meet with Prince Harry in a matter of days, his friend has said. On September 8, Prince Harry - who quit royal life in 2020 -will be in the UK for the 2025 Wellchild Awards, a charity he is patron of.
During his time in the UK, Harry is believed to be likely to meet with his father King Charles, although this has not been officially confirmed. If this meeting takes place, it will be the first time the pair would have met since February 2024, with rifts between Harry and his royal relatives believed to be ongoing.
While the King may be reportedly open to the idea of a meeting, the same cannot be said for Prince William, who has not been on talking terms with his younger brother Harry for some time.
Although William, 43, may have reportedly rejected the chance to meet Harry, 40, on his upcoming visit, he reportedly respects the King's right to make his own decision when it comes to his interaction with his youngest son.
As reported by The Daily Beast, a friend of William told The Royalist this week that William thinks the meeting is a "terrible idea".
The friend said: "Ultimately, William is a loyal soldier. He respects his father's rank, and he respects his father's right to make his own decisions, and he won't make a fuss if it happens."
The source continued: "But he (William) thinks a Harry meeting is a terrible, terrible idea."

Prince William has not formally commented on the rift with his brother, or Harry's upcoming visit to the UK.
King Charles has also stayed silent on the matter, with it not yet being officially confirmed whether or not he will meet his youngest son next week.
It is believed the King and Harry have experienced a turbulent relationship recently, with Harry telling the BBC in May that his father "won't speak" to him.
It is believed this was the case at the time as Harry has been in a court appeal process against the Home Office over his downgraded UK taxpayer-funded security rights - a case the prince lost.
