Retired rugby player Chris Robshaw has been eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing, making him the third contestant to be voted off the BBC ballroom show. Former Strictly professional Vincent Simone, 46, spoke exclusively to Express.co.uk on behalf of Paddy Power, and suggested the wrong couple had been sent home on Sunday night. The retired rugby player and his professional partner Nadiya Bychkova exited the competition after a tense dance-off against Balvinder Sopal and Julian Caillon. Both couples performed their routines from Saturday night's show, with Chris and Nadiya dancing a salsa to Maria by Ricky Martin and Balvinder and Julian performing a paso doble to Diablo Rojo by Rodrigo y Gabriela.

Judges Anton Du Beke and Shirley Ballas both voted to save Chris and Nadiya, but Motsi Mabuse and Craig Revel Horwood, the latter having this week's deciding vote, chose to save Balvinder and Julian, meaning it was Chris who left the competition. Vincent is convinced La Voix and Aljaz Skorjanec as well as Stefan Dennis and Dianne Buswell should have been in the dance-off.

He said: "If it were up to me, I would have put La Voix in the bottom two alongside Stefan and Dianne.

They were the ones who really should have been there. But ultimately, with it being between Chris and Balvinder, I do agree with the judges' decision, and that Chris should have gone."

He continued: "What Chris managed to do with those amazing lifts was impressive - I didn't expect that at all. It was a great number.

Unfortunately, when it came to the salsa itself, the judges were right - there wasn't enough technique, particularly in the hip rotation and pressure. But overall, it was still a great performance, and Nadiya was brave to trust him with those lifts - that was full-out commitment."

Strictly fans were left fuming after La Voix avoided Sunday's dance off despite her routine landing her at the bottom of the leaderboard.

The Drag Race star, 45, and pro partner Alja, 35, received the show's lowest ever week-four score on Saturday for their Cha-Cha-Cha with just 14 points, including a two from Shirley.

Meanwhile, Dianne and Stefan scored 26 last weekend performing a Charleston to Dance Monkey by Tones and I after the latter received a bye to the show following a recent illness.

The Neighbours actor has since withdrawn from the competition altogether due to a calf injury.
