Fortnite update 35.20 release date, downtime, patch notes, Star Destroyer, Sith Rey

fans are counting down to the release of update 35.20, which introduces the Star Destroyer.

Fortnite update 35.20 has a May 29 release date on PS5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Android and Nintendo Switch.

According to , the Star Destroyer Bombardment update will be accompanied by a period of server downtime, which begins at 9am BST UK time.

The news was announced by Epic Games on X, alongside a preview about what fans can expect from the major update.

"Rain destruction from above!" reads an Epic Games tweet. "Downtime for v35.20 begins at 4 AM ET with matchmaking ending shortly beforehand."

As you can see from the trailer below, the headline new feature is the introduction of the Star Destroyer.

Players will be able to assume control of the Star Destroyer and fire turbolasers at opponents on the battleground.

Epic explains more: "On May 29, assume control of a Star Destroyer's turbolaser and lay waste from above!

"A single portal to the Star Destroyer's control room will spawn every match - be the first to reach it and the capital ship is yours."

According to insiders such as Shiina, Sith Rey will be added to the item shop following the update. Fans can also expect a Ferrari Collaboration, a Sabrina Carpenter Concert, as well as files and leaks for the upcoming live event. We may even find out more about the next season, which launches in June.
