Jamshedpur: Over 200 Congress party workers from East Singhbhum on Tuesday submitted a joint petition to DC Ananya Mittal, expressing their willingness to join the civil defence team and serve during challenging times.
In the joint petition, the East Singhbhum District Congress Committee appealed to the DC for his cooperation to facilitate civil defence training and utilise its services in disaster management, rescue and relief operation preparedness.
"The recent India-Pakistan tensions have re-emphasised the need for safety and security preparedness at all times. The Congress workers, driven by a sense of duty towards the motherland, came forward voluntarily to serve the nation," said the District Congress Committee president, Anand Bihari Dubey.
He said the party workers identified by them and who submitted the petition were disciplined, dedicated and committed patriots and keen to join the civil defence team.
"Whether it is our home district or any other district in the state or in the border areas, our group is ready to be deployed for community service," Dubey told the media after submitting the memorandum.
