The much-anticipated first look of Jr NTR and director Prashanth Neel’s upcoming film, tentatively titled NTRNeel, has been postponed to accommodate the grand announcement of War 2 on May 20, 2025 — which also marks Jr NTR’s birthday.
Initially, the makers of NTRNeel had planned to unveil the film’s first glimpse on the same day of the actor's birthday. However, in a gracious move, they decided to defer their release to allow War 2, also starring Hrithik Roshan and Kiara Advani to take centre stage.
They took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a message explaining their decision that 'War 2' deserved the spotlight first. The makers wrote, "Respecting the WAR… Before unleashing the CARNAGE. For now, #WAR2 takes over the proceedings. We’ll arrive next at the perfect time to launch our MASS MISSILE - #NTRNeel Glimpse. Celebrate Man of Masses @Tarak9999 ’s birthday with #War2."
Roshan’s tweet teased Jr NTR about the surprise awaiting fans on May 20. Jr NTR responded with a playful promise of a special return gift to Hrithik's character, Kabir.
Hrithik wrote, "Hey @tarak9999 , think you know what to expect on the 20th of May this year? Trust me you have NO idea what’s in store. Ready? #War2." Jr NTR replied, "Thank you in advance @iHrithik sir!!! Can’t wait to hunt you down to give you a special return gift Kabir…"
'War 2', directed by Ayan Mukerji, brings together Hrithik and Jr NTR in a high-octane spy universe, with the Bollywood star reprising his role as Major Kabir Dhaliwal. The film will include intense action, gripping storytelling, and a thrilling cat-and-mouse game between two powerful forces. The film also stars Kiara Advani. It will be released on August 14, 2025.
On the other hand, 'NTRNeel', also rumoured to be named 'Dragon', directed by Prashanth Neel and starring Jr NTR, is set to hit theatres on June 25, 2026.
