IPL 2025: Why KL Rahul is not in Delhi Capitals playing XI vs Mumbai Indians?

Send Push
Delhi Capitals have made multiple key personnel changes in their must-win clash against Mumbai Indians on Wednesday in IPL 2025 . Needing a win to qualify for the playoffs, DC have been hit hard with the absence of regular skipper Axar Patel.

"He has been really sick in the last two days. We'll miss him today. Axar is two players and it's difficult to replace him. We'll see how it goes," Du Plessis said during the toss," said Faf du Plessis, who is leading DC against MI, at the toss.

Axar is not the only big absence from Delhi Capitals' playing XI. KL Rahul is the other big miss as they decided to field at Wankhede Stadium .

Instead of coming into the playing XI and to field, KL Rahul has been slotted as a possible Impact Player option and there is a strong chance that he will come in when DC bat.

This crucial match will decide the last playoff spot, after Gujarat Titans, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and Punjab Kings secured their places.

If MI beat DC, Hardik Pandya's team will be the final qualifier. However, if DC win against MI but Mumbai recover to beat Punjab Kings and earn two points, Delhi will then need to beat PBKS to secure their spot.
