Olympian Kynan Chenai and Sabeera Haris secured a bronze medal for India in the trap mixed team event as the ISSF Shotgun World Cup concluded on Sunday. The Indian duo edged past Turkey’s Tolga Tuncer and Pelin Kaya 34-33 in the bronze-medal match, ensuring India wrapped up the tournament with a solitary medal.
China bagged the gold after defeating Poland 42-39 in the final. Poland took silver.
Kynan and Sabeera had qualified for the bronze match after finishing fourth among 34 teams in qualification with a total score of 142 from 75 shots each. Sabeera contributed 72 (23, 25, 24), while Kynan added 70 (23, 25, 22). The second Indian pair, Shardul Vihan and Kirti Gupta, placed 17th with a combined score of 137.
The Neutral Athletes topped the overall medal standings with two golds from five events. China followed with one gold and one silver, while Spain and Italy shared third place with one gold apiece.
