On a rainy Sunday morning, photography enthusiasts across the city came together for a photo walk at Kasimedu Fish Market organised by Chennai Times as part of the My City My Click contest by The Times of India Metro Supplements. The drizzle did little to dampen their spirits as the participants, who came from diverse backgrounds, explored the bustling fish market, conversed with each other about their shared passion for photography and exchanged ideas.
Gouthamkumar Janakiraman, who led the session, tells us, “Everyone who was part of the photo walk were passionate about capturing the essence of the people of Kasimedu and their lifestyle. People from different fields took part in it, and many of them weren’t full-time photographers.”
Wholesome and vibrant: Kasimedu captivates budding photographers
It was the location that truly drew Sofia Lourduraj to join the photo walk. “I came here because I was impressed by the location. I have attended a lot of photo walks, but they were all within the city. This is my first photo walk at Kasimedu. The group also helped me with tips.”
Echoing the freshness of the experience, Amitesh Davaram shared, “It’s been wholesome and vibrant. I got to experience a different kind of photography as I took pictures of the fishermen while they were offloading their catch and posing with them.”
